Bedtime story video maker

A bedtime story video tells a tale with a narrator's voice, subtitles and animation. In MythShot you write the story in one line, pick a telling and a voice, and the tale comes back illustrated and narrated.

For creators running a bedtime story or kids' tale channel. A new story every night is possible without an illustrator or voice actor: the plot, hero and lesson are yours; drawing, voice and editing are MythShot's.

How to make a bedtime story video

  1. 1

Write the tale in one line

A hero, a place and a lesson: “A little bear who can't sleep goes to say good night to everyone in the forest”.

  2. 2

    Choose the telling

Legends & History for a story told by the fire, Free Form for any tale. Stories run 30 seconds to 5 minutes; 2–3 minutes is a good start for bedtime.

  3. 3

    Choose the voice

Pick narrated: the whole tale is told by one narrator voice, with subtitles. You can change the subtitle style in the editor.

  4. 4

    Keep the hero

Want the same hero in a new tale every week? Turn it into a series: build the character once from a description and it looks the same in every episode.

  5. 5

    Edit and post

Add calm music and turn down sound effects. When uploading to YouTube, you declare whether the video is made for kids.

Rules for kids' content

MythShot isn't meant for children under 13: an adult creator makes the story videos. Build characters from a description, not from a child's photo. YouTube asks you to declare whether each video is made for kids, and some features such as comments are turned off on those videos. Watch the whole video before posting and regenerate any scene that's scary or not age-appropriate.

Questions

Something else? Write to us

Can I retell classic fairy tales?

Folk tales can be retold, but avoid copyrighted book and cartoon characters. Your own hero and your own tale work best, and that's what makes your channel recognisable.

Which languages can the narration be in?

The story is written and voiced in the app's language, English and Turkish included.

Can I make a silent story with speech bubbles?

Yes: choose silent with speech bubbles and the lines appear in comic-style bubbles while you pick the music. It works well for older kids who like reading.

Is it free, and what does it cost?

Your first video is on us: a new account gets enough coins for a first narrated video. Talking, fully animated scenes cost more coins; every video's cost is shown before you make it. After that you buy one-time coin packs; there are no recurring charges and coins never expire. If a render fails, the coins are refunded automatically. Charges and refunds happen only on our servers and are logged.

Does MythShot post for me?

No. MythShot suggests a title, caption and hashtags for TikTok, YouTube and Instagram; you upload the video from your phone's share sheet with your own account. MythShot never connects to your accounts.
